According to the National Center For Women & Information Technology [NCWIT], from the year 2003 the percentage of women employed in computing and mathematical occupations consistently hovered at about 25 percent since 2007 to 2024 even though the population of women in the professional workforce was more than 50%.
There is an observed trend that we see where for many computing sub-fields women are often being clustered in execution rather than core creative technical roles. Operations Research Analysts historically have had the highest percentage of women (43 % in 2019), and computer hardware engineers have consistently had the smallest proportion of women. In 2019, computer software engineers and computer programmers had the lowest proportion of women (19% and 20%).

Her idea to start a book club was prayerfully initiated after an invitation to accompany Queen Camila and other British Computer Society chartered fellows in attendance at the inaugural Reading Room Festival in Great Britain
Esther was also featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show Season 25 Favorite Things. Among Oprah’s favorite things, several books were gifted to Esther by Oprah and beyond the show, she started gifting books to her friends, women in tech and reading communities. Our reading circle and collective informative conversations inspire and grounded us in our Christian values as professionals and leaders in market place careers.
