National Center For Women & Information Technology
[NCWIT] Metrics

From the year 2003 the percentage of women employed in computing and mathematical occupations consistently hovered at about 25 percent since 2007 to 2024 even though the population of women in the professional workforce was more than 50%
We are moving the needle TOWARDS THE INCLUSION OF MORE women at such a time as this!

women in tech career coaching

Operations Research Analysts historically have had the highest percentage of women (43 % in 2019), and computer hardware engineers have consistently had the smallest proportion of women. In 2019, computer software engineers and computer programmers had the lowest proportion of women (19% and 20%).

NCWIT Metrics indicate an observed trend: For many computing sub-fields, women are often clustered in execution rather than core creative technical roles.

What if women in tech could continue collaborating with advocates & allies?

Do Women Take On Technical Tech Roles?

Women and men need to work together as allies in order to change work cultures that prevent all of us from realizing our full potential.

Women report that support and encouragement to pursue and persist in technical careers often comes from men.

Given this fact, men already play a significant role in improving conditions for women in technology and computing.

ENLISTING MEN’S PARTICIPATION IS VITAL FOR CHANGE EFFORTS TO BE TRULY EFFECTIVE.

Men are often the leaders, power holders, and gatekeepers in the computing workplace.

Collaboration With Men In The Tech Space Is Valuble
