From the year 2003 the percentage of women employed in computing and mathematical occupations consistently hovered at about 25 percent since 2007 to 2024 even though the population of women in the professional workforce was more than 50%
We are moving the needle TOWARDS THE INCLUSION OF MORE women at such a time as this!
Operations Research Analysts historically have had the highest percentage of women (43 % in 2019), and computer hardware engineers have consistently had the smallest proportion of women. In 2019, computer software engineers and computer programmers had the lowest proportion of women (19% and 20%).
NCWIT Metrics indicate an observed trend: For many computing sub-fields, women are often clustered in execution rather than core creative technical roles.

We collate Women in tech input to answer these questions
Participate in research and inform, decreasing the complexity and the lack of interpretability that comes with AI systems
Advocate AI compliance legislature, educate women, institutions, and tech companies about available laws premised on the right to request an explanation for AI decisioning that leads to negative consequences
Leverage statistical deep neural network models to represent a wide range of associations and data or design patterns for decisioning AI systems that include more human-specified rules instead of relying on only data
Inform how AI rules in real systems can allow humans to trace system behavior, recognize parameter triggers, and authorize decision parameters to represent accurate relationships between inputs and outputs
Inform the delivery of saliency map tools for modern machine learning systems for more interpretable visualization of which areas of an AI image led to a model’s classification of the same image
